Health Care

 Al Mokhtabar views health as a human right and hence is keen on extended quality health services to marginalized areas that lack such services.  In collaboration with the Ibrahim Badran Foundation, Al Mokhtabar has been organizing medical convoys around Egypt, since 2015.  Volunteers have supported convoys in rural areas with state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment to provide immediate results for patients.  Throughout the past years, Al Mokhtabar continued to offer quality medical support to more than 11,000 beneficiaries through 149 medical convoys.

Rotary international NGO, Al Mokhtabar labs supported a digital healthcare program aiming at facilitating access to high quality, discounted health care services for persons with special needs to foster a better quality of life for them. This was achieved through developing an application containing various entities that offer facilitation and discounts on healthcare services for them in an effort to promote inclusion and empowerment to more than 1500 person.
Elsondos Orphanage for children with disabilities, Al Mokhtabar was able to provide medical tests to around 200 children with special needs at discounted rates.

As the country continues to create new communities to facilitate a better living standard for Egyptians, we positively contributed to the newly developed Asmarat district since 2019, through:

Equipping the Asmarat Medical Center with a hematology analyzer to test for and help to cure anemia among thousands of patients in the district.

              Contributing to better health and nutrition in the district by distributing thousands of iftar meals to the residents during Ramadan.

Through a collaboration between the Moemena Kamel Foundation and with the Maxim Foundation, Al Mokhtabar supported the renovation of the pediatric section in the hospital to help expand the hospital capacity to serve more patients.

Through our strong belief in the crucial role that Baheya Hospital plays in the community to support patients with breast cancer, whether through treatment plans or through psychological and emotional support, Al Mokhtabar has an ongoing collaboration with this respectable institution. Through this cooperation, we help these worriors to seek healthcare at our premises so we can positively contribute to their support and rehabilitation by helping them to integrate within the community once again and to generate a sustainable income as they embark on their journey to wellness.

1. Reduce patients waiting list at “Baheya”
   Moamena Kamel Foundation, the community partner of Al Mokhtabar Laboratories, sponsored 200 chemotherapy sessions; For breast cancer fighters at Baheya Hospital, which resulted in a reduction in waiting lists.
2. Support the full treatment journey
   Moamena Kamel Foundation, the community partner of Al Mokhtabar Laboratories, supported the breast cancer curing journey for 63 patients at Baheya Hospital.
3. Moral and Hands-On Support for Patients
   Continuing with our collaboration with Baheya Hospital, AlMokhtabr volunteers organized a visit to Baheya Hospital to provide moral support to cancer patients during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. An exhibition of hand-made products by Baheya warriors was also organized at Al Mokhtabar headquarters during “International Breast Cancer Awareness Month” to help showcase the capabilities of these amazing women to employees who were both delighted and highly supportive.
4. “Stronger together for better health” initiative
   The Foundation, in cooperation with El Mokhtabar doctors, honored the doctors at Baheya Hospital, who are in charge of treating and caring for women, emphasizing their important role in supporting women so that they can continue to live in better health.

In its effort to maintain a strong and sustainable philanthropic hand to entities in need, Al Mokhtabar conducted several initiatives in support of Egypt’s Al Kasr Al Aini Hospital, one of Egypt’s legacy medical institutions.  Through this initiative, support was provided in the following areas: 

Kidney Dialysis Unit:

• The Moamena Kamel Foundation, as the community partner of Al Mokhtabar Labs, has been working with Kasr El Aini Hospital since 2019, supporting more than 16 thousand patients within its Kidney Dialysis Unit.
• The foundation has furnished the kidney dialysis unit with filters and medical supplies, both crucial and integral for the successful treatment of patients.

Gastrointestinal & Endoscopy Hospital:

• The Moamena Kamel Foundation has also lent support to the Gastrointestinal & Endoscopy Hospital by providing medicine, medical supplies, and various aid packages impacting more than 425 patients.

Intensive Care Unit:

• The foundation supported the Intensive Care Unit through providing medical equipment & extra patient beds, enabling the facility to extend its services to a larger number of patients.

El Abasseya Fever Hospital Support:

The Moamena Kamel Foundation supported the repair of endoscopy equipment used within the hospital enabling the hospital to support more than 3000 patients annually.

The esteemed Egyptian white army is the first defense line in public health crises as was demonstrated in the Covid 19 crisis. In cooperation with union of medical syndicates, Al Mokhtabar offered special discounts for doctors and their families in recognition for their fundamental role facing the COVID-19 crisis.
